Many current overlays, nameplates and label constructions are engineered to carry acrylic adhesives that adhere very well to metals and high surface energy substrates. These same adhesives will not adhere as well to substrates categorized as having “low surface energy,” such as Teflon®, polypropylene, polyethylene and powder coated surfaces. However, there are modified acrylic and rubber based adhesives that have been specifically designed for low surface energy substrates. These special adhesives need to be considered whenever you use a powder coated product or any other low surface energy plastic.

Illuma Glo is a modern, high-performance photoluminescent (HPPL) material created by combining the latest PL pigments, such as Strontium Aluminate (SrAl) into durable clear carriers, such as acrylic or PVC plastics. When exposed to light, these materials absorb some of the light’s energy and re-emit it as a yellow-green tinted glow. This “glow-in-the-dark” characteristic provides Roemer with the ability to offer self-illuminating emergency labels for even the most difficult of applications. Illuma Glo materials can be exposed to light and discharged an infinite number of times with a service life of 20 years or more.

Roemer provides Illuma Glo material in continuous lengths that can be extruded to fit your requirements. It is offered with multiple adhesives or fasteners for quick and easy application.

UL Listing and Classified Markings

Underwriters Laboratories has made significant changes in the application and use of their Listing and Classified markings. If your product requires these markings, ask your Account Manager for a brief explanation.

UL Approved Design & Labeling

Does your product require it to be marked with a UL symbol? Will it need the words Listed or Classified added? How about the special product name and four character alphanumeric Control Number? To fulfill these and other requirements you will need to work with a UL Authorized Label Supplier.

Roemer Industries is a member of the UL Authorized Label Supplier Program. As a member, we are approved to design and apply UL symbols and other markings including listing, classification, product, control numbers, serialization prefixes and file numbers. When you order from Roemer, we work directly with UL to ensure that the necessary markings meet with their approval. Also, as part of that process, we will add your particular product information such as company name, electrical ratings, warning notices, date codes, etc. A proof is provided to you for final approval.
