Artwork Specifications
Send artwork directly to Roemer EI department at EI@roemerind.com. You can fax a hard copy to 330-448-8161. For any questions, please call 330-448-2000 x4.
Electronic Artwork:
File Format:
- Saved in supported software or .pdf /.eps
- Adobe Illustrator CS5
- Adobe InDesign CS5 (saved as an .eps)
- Adobe Photoshop
- Adobe Acrobat
- Corel Draw 9
- AutoCAD 2007
- Microsoft Word (for type only)
- Microsoft Excel (for databases only)
Font:
- Fonts are able to be converted to Macintosh system
- Include all screen and printer fonts
- Send the font with media if a specific font is desired
- Convert fonts to outlines
- Choose bold or italic versions
- Do not use applied type styles
Graphics:
- Include all linked graphics
- Provide each image file if artwork was created in another program
- All graphics should be in “EPS” or “TIFF” format.
- Scan color and grayscale photos at 300 dpi at final size
- All linework should be scanned at no less than 1200 dpi
- Saved as a “tiff” or “bitmap”
- Images saves at high resolution (300 dpi at 100% for photos, 1200 dpi at 100% for line art)
Hard Media
If electronic artwork is not available we will also reproduce your art from a technical drawing, laser print, fax, even an existing part. Please be sure all submissions are legible (IF YOU CAN’T READ IT NEITHER CAN WE). Extra art charges may apply due to complexity of art.
Color
- Save all color photos and vector images as CMYK
- Choose colors from the Pantone swatch books, rather than color combinations that look good on your monitor
- Colors from a low-end, non-color managed printer do NOT represent the color that will be printed
- Please provide any previously printed material that we may have to match color
*Professional Color Matching is available for jobs where color is critical.
MOST COMMON PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED:
- Missing Fonts
- Electronic media files do not match supplied hard copy
- Misspellings and improper grammar in supplied media
- Type modified using the style palette (i.e. bold or italic) rather than by using the appropriate font from the font list
- Low resolution or missing graphics
- Line art (logos) saved in 300 dpi grayscale format, rather than 1200 dpi bitmap format
- Embedded graphics from vector files not supplied
